Austrian pilot Hannes Arch hits a pelican in the final four at the second round of the 2009 Red Bull Air Race World Championship in San Diego, US, May 10, 2009. The incident damaged the plane’s tail and pushed Arch off position.
He incurred a penalty and finished in third place.
French pilot Nicolas Ivanoff was the winner.
